Does anyone know what they are trying to do on the corner of Howden Road. How come the pavement has increased to 3 times its old width without any thought to cars driving around it

Coming down should you drive over the cobbles or go onto the other side of the road

Has there been any plans for this ??

I have spoken to the developer, who tells me that yes you are supposed to drive over the cobbled area, but he did agree this would be difficult for anyone on 2 wheels. they are trying to slow down the traffic and will be changing the white lines on the other side of the road at the end of ST Johns St, He said there has been plans passed but I have not seen any.

Perhaps the developer should tell bus drivers and driving instructors to drive over the cobbles - they all avoid them. It will be interesting to see how the yellow lines are painted. Will they paint them on the cobbles as they should? No bets on that one! Never mind someone will wake up when there has been an accident - let's hope it ain't one of the many school buses that use that road!

They have marked up the pavement outside the Car shop so they might be making it wider!

I think that the cobbled area is stupid and I believe that it will just cause more accidents than we already have there

On this corner it would be a good idea if there were convex mirrors on BOTH SIDES of the road, it would enable pedestrians AND vehicles to use the road safely.

Because of the cobbles buses and other large vehicles go to the other side of the road to get around the corner.

There was something in the Keighley new about this a few weeks back.

apparantley the plans were passed along with the planning for the conversion that is taking place.

I agree with what people are saying about its not clear where to drive, but i think the cobbles and extended pavement will definatley be needed to slow people down once cars start to drive out of the mill complex, otherwise it would have been a blind corner, and that would have caused more accidents surley.

It's a blind corner from a pedestrian perspective however the cobbles are arranged. Car drivers have metal around them, what have pedestrians got? This corner is dangerous.

if drivers drive over it they could bust a tyre won't that just cause more problems and the flats that are building dont have double glzed windows so if a car came crashing or even a rock the window would just smash causing hazards to people.

And what about the poor motorcyclists?
Anyone on here tried cornering on rough wet cobbles?
Hope Bradford get their public liability insurance up to date before they adopt this road!
