if this post ever sees the light of day on this forum, i will be surprised. but i think our administrator is getting megalomaniacal and control freakish with his 'permission' to post subjects on here. i can understand the control of blasphemy, lude comments or generally bad behaviour. but to ban comments about a particular food restaurant/takeaway in the town, when obviously its' residents just want everybody else know of something good in the town is nothing short of censorship.i for one will consider not visiting this site if i think all you can say is what peter wants to here. |

bobber...can't agree with you on this one, always found Peter to be fair ( I don't know him). The case you mention was so obvious that he had to step in...it was blatant advertising for one takeaway when another was changing hands. |

can't agree carliol.we have a lot of curry aficionados in this town and if they want to let others know what they've tried that night and how good it was, then what a good site this is. i don't think for one minute anybody sharing their thoughts had any financial or beneficial reason to do it on here. |

I suppose it was because I thought Lazeez was great, and so did visitors to our house. I also remember they were fire-bombed a few days before they opened, so there are dark forces around here. Anyway, we all have our favourite curries, and personal taste will always prevail over what other people think....thank goodness. This is a good local website, with healthy views, but there has to be some control now and again...free commercial advertising is not part of the site, but maybe you are right, and all the people were genuine.........eh? |

Got to stand up for Peter on this one.... People can easily create duplicate accounts on here - as i have to prove my point. This was not a case of censorship, this was clearly a case of someone taking advantage of some free advertising - the comments by regular posters, i assume were in good faith and i don't dispute that but look at the number of posts from new members on that one thread.... Why should Peter let anyone take advantage of free advertising? - he incurs costs/ spends his time operating this site, let him make the rules and let him protect the investment other local businesses have made in paying for advertising on the site!!! |

if, and i say if there were a lot of 'new member' postings purely on the subject of river spice and its merits', i will retract my scathing comments on our beloved fuhrer, peter with apologies.i can be sometimes too trusting in my perfect world.on the other hand, as an established member on this site it is slightly irksome to be told i will be banned if i post on a particular subject.i have to wonder, i mean, look at the cricket |

just look back at the one that Peter deleted - all contributions made by noobs and all within in an hour and if i remember the content of the messages, they were a bit specific about the food at the establishment - i suspect Peters threat to ban was not aimed at you but at those "people" who probably shared the same IP address which Peter will have logged - i am sure he met no offence to you |

Interesting how this got resolved without Peter having to step in? Shows the power of the people, and how this site can work to everybody's benefit. Time for breakfast, give bobber an extra bacon sarnie for his gracious apology (we'll forget the "fuhrer" bit!). Have a great day everyone |
