This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

working
might be better 1 sunday in spring then the likely hood of more floods/rocks later would be less
plus might be warmer so more people might be up for it
what would we do with the rocks/debris?

Build a rockery?

Maybe we could collect the rocks to build a rockery in one of the sheltered housing complexes. Clear an eyesore and make something nice for people of of it.

if we concrete over it, we may get even more floods than recently. Besides, we live next to it, and our visitors always say they sleep better to the sound of running water!

Oh dear for the want of a cause! Bradford sort the beck out after floods with a JCB.

I suggest you contact Silsden Environment Group who organise a beck cleanup in the Spring.

In the past (many years ago) Silsden Town Council debated about covering this area of the beck to provide a bus station, or a car park.

Stopping my kids from distroying everything given the sugar rush is what i will be doing at easter weekend.

i wonder seriously just where the best place to put the rocks would be...... maybe it would be best consulting with the environmetal dept (?) just to get an agreement. Sounds petty i know, but i can guarentee someone will complain wont they?!

I'd put them in my shed but i think my neighbours would get worried. wink ;)

Bit puzzled why the debate about the rocks, I thought it was simple they got scoured out of the foundation of the Post Office bridge did they not? So put 'em back or else next time there may be no bridge!sad :(
