poss only applies to modern engines ,even as they are poss not original engines in lancaster,they are poss older engines. |

I understand it's a problem with the engine mountings, which should be easily rectified. A man in the pub told me last night, so it must be true. |

Or another possible reason. I was told by a R.A.F. Officer yesterday; that it is because they have found particles of metal in the oil of a Merlin engine which has had one of the new crank shafts fitted, so they are now having to check all of them to make sure none of the other such fitted engines have the same problem. |
