I remember this gathering and I would say the year was about 1969. My Grandma lived on the canal bank and I remember the family walking up and down the boats. As someone has mentioned the Co-op coal yard is still there as is the hen pens up Howden Road and the barn at Holmes farm. I am afraid I do not know what the gathering was for. |

Just a correction to your post ,the hen pens are no longer there , the land was owned by a chap called Kit Edmundson and when he died his daughter had 3 bungalows built on the plot and wanted to call them Kit Close but as there was already a Kit Lane in Silsden (up Raikes Road) they had to settle for Christopher Close Hope this helps |

The hen pens will always be on the picture and they will be in a hundred years time ,cos its a picture |
