I might be tempting fate here, but, I find it very heartwarming to see that three months down the road and not one of the wreaths on the war memorial has been disturbed this year.
Some of our youths get a bad press, but this is something they do seem to be respecting.
Good on you!

I'd just like to point out that it isn't just 'youths' who do things like nick wreaths, grown ups do it too! razz :p

As far I I am aware nobody has touched any of them this year!
I was trying to show the better side of our town.

I am a youth from silsden and i do not steal wreaths from the memorial it is just the way we are portrayed i do not think that all the youths of the area are "bad" i think the police need to watch who they are prosecuting and sending letters home because this is totally unfair on some youths

My dad always said when i was a kid dont hang out with trouble makers
the police will just see a group has done something wrong so everyone is tarred with the same brush

I might get slated for saying this but...

I always thought praise was for when someone has done something especially good or notable. Not stealing the wreaths is only what should happen anyway.

most of the "youths" do need telling by the police or who every then they wont turn out like the silsden riff-raff or "wildlife" as my wife tends to call them....

Who said anything about the wreaths being stolen? I only said they had not been touch, in previous years sometimes they have been kicked about.
Dale, if you have had a letter home/ then you most have been doing something wrong on more than one occasion.

well said Dale I agree with you the police should target the real trouble makers like young men in cars asking very young silsden boys not youths what drugs they would like? I know this is true because one of these youths in the car is called basher and yes he is an As- - - and if I get hold of him it will not be the police he needs it will an ambulance. Dont tell me the police do not know of him as he is well known to them.angryangryangry

It has always been a puzzle to me that we have three churches in Silsden yet none of them make much effort to be leaders in the community and provide youth clubs and guidance to the youths - their future congregation!

It is very sad that these poor kids are incapable of stringing more than two words together without resorting to the “F” word.
I don’t suppose they bothered to clean up after their little moment of madness.
If any of their parents see the clip and recognise their own offspring, it would be nice to think appropriate action will result, but somehow I very much doubt it.

They will probably say the usual thing "but there's nothing for them to do". There was nothing laid on for us to do when I was a youngster, but we made our own amusement without getting into trouble or bothering other people. We also went for walks with our parents (no cars for us in those days).

You might be able to write more than two words without using a swear word! But the ones in the clip were incapable of speaking more than two, if you don't beleive me listen for yourself.

So, bogtoss, have you done your duty as a normal citizen and reported this to the police? If not why not?
