IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. m.keighleynews.co.uk/news/11438770.Friends_group_started_for_Silsden_Town_Hall/#comments Still the same mis information, still claims that the former town hall are DDA compliant. It is claimed that it is "heavily used at night". Strange thing though, more often than not, when I've gone past in the evening, it's been closed! I'm talking about Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, which I would call prime opening nights. |

I read that differently - I read thats as no one is using the bloody place and he's now worried its going to be pointed out he's spent a load of money for nothing |

Quite probably right on that one Dodzi. He is still quoting the £300,000 figure, conveniently forgetting the extra £100,000. I don't think that the question of how much the project went over budget was ever answered. Why else would he be pursuing the £25,000 police funding? |

Yes I think he is worried that his chickens are now coming home to roust. He is also not mentioning that BMDC have increased by a large amount the fees for hire of the rooms and because of this they have lost at least one very regular booking. |

No favouritism, just saying that we and all that come in enjoy the new look and want to encourage the use of a lovely building .. and library |

I have only been in the library three times. Main reasons are I have to ask a member of the passing public to press the button on the door as I cannot reach it from my wheelchair. The books are in cabinets but there is not enough room to go down the aisles to access them. The staff were lovely and when I asked for the large print section they pulled a cabinet out, but still I could only look at the books at the end. Another thing I am wondering about is if I needed to use the disabled toilet(which is upstairs) would I be allowed. I might go in one day and ask. |

As a supporter of the Town Hall refurbishment which I believe was done for the benefit of Silsden. I was very disappointed to hear that one of the main groups who pushed very hard for the refurbishment are to hold there next production in the Methodist hall, I am flabbergasted if not disgusted. |

m.cravenherald.co.uk/news/11458038.Friends_group_started_for_Silsden_Town_Hall/ I note that they quote the figure of £300,000 plus. Interesting that they say that Bradford Met has funded the renovation, conveniently forgetting the sale of other assets to cover it. |

Someone voted for him, but not me. |

That doesn't make them his friends! My late departed father said that if the Tory party put a blue rosette on a sheep it would end up in parliament in the Skipton constituency. they will vote for anybody |
