IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

When I pull on of the smiley down I get this:
javascript:smileyInsert(topicform.message,%20'happy :)');
By a process of elimination I have worked out that all I need is this:- happy :)
When this forum first appeared I could just pull the face down and that was it. Any expert know what I am doing or have done wrong.

I haven't changed the code.

Have you changed the browser you are using?

Are you dragging the wrong set of smileys happy :)

I didn't even know you COULD drag the smileys sad :(

Put the curser in the text box where you want the smiley to be and click on the smiley - works for me (most of the time)! laugh :D

They work fine in IE but not so good in FF.

Hand code them

Doh! this forum software doesn't seem to support [pre] or [code] tags so I can't actually post the codes for smileys without them sghowing up as smileys!!

Peter you really ought to get some better forum software wink ;)

Cheers!

I know but we would lose all the past posts + I can customise this forum to a degree - the colours, the ads down the side which help to keep this site running, the nav at the bottom of the page and few other bits which you don't see but make it work. happy :)

It's a Firefox problem. sad :(

I could spend a long time trying to find out why it's not working in Firefox (it works ok in IE and Opera). I will have a look but don't hold your breath for a fix. sad :(

For those of you who haven't tried the browser Opera, give it a go! It is a really nice clean interface browser which works well with some really nice features. happy :)wink ;)happy :)

It's free - just search for Opera and download/install. If Firefox or IE are your browsers of choice you can just install another browser, you don't have to make it your default unless you want to. happy :)

This is section of the help which shows you how to insert smileys by using key codes happy :)www.silsden.net/forum/philboard_code.html#smiley
