What a fantastic day as Silsden Under 16īs lifted the Copa Cataluyna U16 Trophy. A semi final victory over Polish side Miejski Osrodek Sportu i Rekreacji by 2 goals to 1 at 3pm local time, with first half strikes from Ollie Peacock and Chris Wademan. The Poles scored late in the second half from a header, but the young lions kept their nerve and saw the game out. MOM Ollie Peacock At 5pm the Final took place on the main field against the unbeaten Italians of Genova Juniors. The first half produced few chances at either end with Genova possibly missing the best of the half with a 15yrd shot over the bar after good work down the right hand side. Silsden improved and should have won in normal time as they controlled the second period, but chances went a begging from Josh Eastwood, Lewis Routledge and Chris Wademan. Then but for a stunning save from the Italian keeper Kieran Brittonīs thunderbolt would have sealed a deserved win. Full Time; 0-0 With no schedule in the huge tournament for extra time the final went straight to pens. Penalty Shots In Order: Danny Driver (Silsden) missed Genova No 7 saved by Danny Binns Josh McNulty (Silsden) Scored Genova No 10 saved by Danny Binns Kieran Britton (Silsden) Scored Genova No 5 saved by Danny Binns Chris Wademan (Silsden) missed Genova No 16 Scored Sam Conway (Silsden) SCORES AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS WON::::::::::::::: Mass scenes of celebration that England have never experience abroad at atournament before.
