As of April 2013, our friendly local government are proposing to charge all those households that are claiming council tax benefit 25% of their council tax bill.
As a full time student, I have a household income of less than £10k pa. Additional.financial constraints are going to break many households |

As a retired person, my income is less than £6000... I wish I had the income of a student! |

cuts have to be made somewhere, I think there will be benefits available for anyone on a low income who is faced with paying full council tax.It is up to individuals to make provision for their old age, the old age pension is not a vast amount so needs to be topped up with a private one which I think from now on everyone in employment will be signed into a private pension unless they choose to opt out, in which case they will have only themselves to blame if they have nothing to live on when they retire.Something has to give, the country is skint |

Those of a pensionable age are exempt from the proposed changes.
There are a number of cuts that could or should be made beforehand:
Refuse collection down to once a fortnight. Grass cutting teams working through the week only, so no weekend premiums to pay. No benefits for any immigrant/none national, unless he/she has been in the country for 24 months. No benefits for any none UK citizens living outside of UK waters.
Simples! |

Like Bradford Council, this local Council tax is outdated. It should be a local income tax so people pay according to income today and not what the value of your property was 20 years ago |
