Walking around our lovely little town (once again)this morning and stopped by the beck - from the St John road side , and it just struck me what a little gem of a view it was - just a pity that it is almost completely obscured from the high street side , people travelling through the town (either by car or even walking ) would easily miss the ford and waterfall - not sure who else agrees with me, but should the town ever come in to a little money , (Know there's always something more deserving) but I believe some consideration should be given to spending a little money on opening up the waterfall area , to make it more of a feature of the town. |

If some money isn’t spent on the weir and soon there won’t be much to see, most of the top stones have been moved by the constant floods so now the water is undermining the weir itself. |

It does want a lot of work doing to it to preserve it. Most of the top stones, both flags and Yorkshire Stone flags have been dislodged and/or broken. I would be happy to spend a day working on it, removing debris, clearing the weeds out of the bed etc if we could get a group together to sort it. |
