IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Same goes for the one at Howden road/Jacques road. Reported nearly four weeks ago on the website, after two weeks we rang them and they promised it would be done last week......Still no sign of them !! Maybe they think we are mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed 5 h 1 t |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) I reported the lights on Tufton Street over 3 weeks ago. As you say, nothing has been done about them yet. There is one post, about a third of the way down the street, with no head or fittings on it. I have reported this with it. Reference numbers given - FLC-1433202 - 25/11/2013 FLC-1433205 - 25/11/2013 FLC-1423045 - 13/11/2013 |

Dont worry...Supercouncillor is on the case and all lights will soon be fixed...they might then have to be turned off again for "snagging" works and they might not be safe to use and some asset in Silsden might be sold to pay for the work but it will be done.....soon www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/archive/2013/11/28/10842629.Shedding_light_on_Silsden_street_lamps_row/ |

I reported that all the lights on Barrett Street weren't working last week: FLC-1440873. Still not heard back from BMDC. |

I suppose they have to find some way to fill the big black hole the cost of the Town Hall has created in their budget. |

It will cost them been more when compensation claims start coming in. There is a house on the odd side of TUFTON Street that has a wrought iron gate that is stuck out into the pavement. I almost walked into it the other night. |

Eep I think that gate is mine! So sorry, it doesn't have a latch for some reason and tends to swim open. I will find something to hook it closed with. Sorry!! |

I reported all the lights on Spencer Ave & Hillcrest ages ago, took them about two weeks to get them back on. Then they went off again about two weeks ago and I reported them again, in much stronger terms! Took them about a week to fix the second time. Should've done the job right the first time, numpties! |

It's the fact that it is so dark down these streets with the lights out, and the people must find it quite scary coming home in the dark, I know I don't like. It also it's an ideal opportunity for unsavoury characters to lurk... |

It still amazing that the council maintain these lights if they dont own the land ie private road. I would say Silsden Urban District Council took the roads on and Bradford assumed the roads when they took over Silsden Council |

Sorry, I didn't intend having a dig at you it's just one of many obstacles up and down the street. I am partially sighted, which results in differing light strengths have a diverse effect on me. |

Barratt street has been off for five weeks now this is the second time in two months I have reported it to bmdc three times but it's like talking to a brick wall. Our street is pitch black and to be honest is an accident waiting to happen. Does any one know what is going on !!!!!! Don't suppose we get a poll tax rebate on this .several people on my street are elderly and this is dangerous .about time something was sorted out . |
