So this morning Baildon Post Office had their cash machine taken with the front of the shop blown out with explosives. Ilkley jewellers had a smash an grab just before lunchtime,25 mins before the Police arrived. This is scary stuff,please can we have our local Bobbies back! |

That is a poor response time for Ilkley, although the police station is closed to the public there are police cars/vans outside most of the time. Question is what do they do in there?? |

Philips Jewellers on Brook Street was raided by two men with sledgehammers around 11am, thankfully no one was hurt. |

Rationalisations yes, Silsden had not been used has a local station for some years before it was closed. But since this lot have been in power there has been a reduction of 16.400 police officers. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) Maybe but you can't blame the Tories for cuts when it was already happening under Labour. Throughout Labours term I noticed for instance a significant drop in traffic police whilst road standards deteriorated. Sorry but I don't buy this whole Tories bad, Labour good argument when Labour spent too much money by their own admission whilst they were in power. |

Too many people believe the propaganda put out by the Tory press. Always blaming but never explaining. So much money for local authorities is now controlled by central government I sometimes wonder why they bother. Basic Tory plan is to get everything under central control and then to flog it off to their rich mates. Privatizing the police has started. Group 4 for instance. Trouble is many people are Tory wannabes without any real hope or chance. Unfortunately it takes years for the penny to drop. You have the government services, local and national you voted for. If you do not like it stop whinging and do something. But please do not use the like of the Daily Mail, Daily Express, Sun, Daily Telegraph, Times as sources of reliable information. |

Old Miner is correct about the move to a few massive companies running public services which will end up with the loss of competiveness in the same way nationalised industry fails. I notice Obama said the USA are busy with a trade agreement with the EU and the UK would be at the back of the queue for trade agreements. The EU-USA agreement he is talking about is TTIP which will increase the power of big business and lessen local controls.You think its bad now!! |
