If you are looking for a group interested in alcohol, nip into any of the pubs when they are open. You will always normally find somebody sampling a vessel.
By the way the idea of brewing "beer cider ginger beer" sounds a bit exotic, I would suggest you start by brewing them all seperately ! |

If your setting up a Brewers Group (Careful) then I would be interested in it, I have been thinking about giving it a go for a while. |

Lager comes from the germanic word for storage. Genuine Lager Beer is fermented over a long period in a cool place with the fermentation yeast at the bottom. This gives the beer the clear appearance.
Most 'lager' beer is not made this way so in fact is not genuine lager. For the real stuff try the Czech beers - they are as original as they get. |

Practical question. During the last recession in the 1980s home brewing was a big thing with even the likes of Boots becoming big sellers of all the kit. So before the big boys get back on the act where is the best place to go for kit in this part of the world? My previous stuff all went when we moved from the big city to the countryside, over ten years ago now. |

offshoots in keighley have some (wholefoods store bottom of cavendish street)
theres a home brew/cake makeing equipment store on saltaire road shipley very good just after bridge over to tax office on way to foxes corner junction (red shop on the right)
or theres a homebrew only shop up leeds road bradford not been there though
morrisons used to do cans of syrup yeast campden tablets corks etc but stopping it now which is silly as nows the time people are gonna get into it |

you can also buy the kit and all the other stuff from wilkinsons, buy online and collect from shipley, or bradford has a decent stock they do the syrups, not the best but very cheap, from £4.99. as well as yeast, sugars, corks, bottles, co2...... i am just guessing but if you asked at the healthfood shop in silsden they would prob be able to order stuff in for you. Most health food shops, like keighley can order the stuff from there suppliers. |
