Addingham Moorside was used regularly by trial riders for many years. Complaints allegedly from a resident resulted in Bradford Council placing hefty restriction on the use of the land for motor sport.

Silsden is the home to a family that has produced two world motorcycle trials champions. At least two people, and probably more, who are involved in the motorcycle trials trade live and have businesses in the area.

The Tory party is openly the party of business.

As I recall the restrictions on Addingham Moorside happened pretty quickly and I cannot remember much support against the move from local politicians.

the trials riders used the field/moorside next to nab end on the silsden side not on addingham moorside? i think the point you are trying to make old miner is that naylor did nothing to stop the trials taking place i have no idea if this is true or not? but he does live just over the hill from were the trials took place he does not live on addingham moorside but at the top of brunthwaite maybe he does not like the sound of bike smmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I seem to remember he was helping the farmer's agent to put together their case. Maybe you should ask the farmer?

so are you saying that cllr naylor supported a farmer who wanted the trials stopped or that he supported the trials riders being able to continue riding up there?I am a bit confused, mind you it doesn't take much to confuse me these days

I presume then that the farmer failed in his attempt to get the ban stopped. I wonder who complained as there are not really any houses round there ? I cannot see how it affected anyone could it have been the golf club?

Not sure about who the omplainant(s) where, but BMDC banned trail bikes and green laning on the Flappit, similar set up, no disruption to anybody. On the odd occasion that I pass through that area, there a;ways seems to be at least one or two hardliners still using the site.

If a candidate was to win the Craven seat who resided outside of the ward who wasn't an active member of the community would he or she be able to offer the support people can expect at the moment from the current candidate?

Political parties have a habit of expecting their candidates to put the interests of the party before that of the people they represent. To me it means very little if someone was deselected or disciplined because they upset their party. Only then to be replaced by somebody with fewer ties to the community they purpose to represent.
