this post has been edited 1 time(s) Democracy is one of the best things we are lucky to have.I do have strong views on politicians, who im sure most agree represent themselves when they should represent the people. As yet I dont know what specific plans are on the table from the candidates so have not decided who to vote for.Past performance is included in my decision. As I say I have views on politicians like Working for another nearby parish council is a conflict of interest as sometimes another parish might be perhaps chasing the same grant.100% focus should be on Silsden,Steeton,Addingham & Eastburn.Same with fighting the corner of KEIGHLEY TOWN CENTRE ASSOCIATION. Choosing not to talk with other tiers of local government is not something elected councillors should be doing. Losing more than one election in your own town then being shoehorned into a "safe" seat at the expense of a hard working existing councillor. Saying "if elected" you would relocate to live in Silsden. Making claims to understand what Cobbydalers want without living in the town. Must dash, I need to look into the backgrounds of ALL the candidates to see who fits my criteria to represent me.I went to school with one candidate so I know he is a Cobbydaler I must have some tales about that person!!!!!javascript:smileyInsert(topicform.message,%20'  ');Seriously though as with every election the most important thing is to judge the candidates on what they could do for Silsden,Addingham,Steeton,Eastburn and YOU. NO.And it shouldnt be if people can offer the right qualities+ its not just Silsden its Addingham,Steeton and Eastburn too. I do think living in the ward for a few years should be a must, not saying you will move to the area IF elected. Thats how I look at candidates but people can have their own views.Democracy is something to be proud of. |
