Posted on behalf of Anne Knight Cancer Research UK\'s SunSmart campaign is aiming to encourage primary schools to develop a sun protection policy, as evidence shows that this is one of the most effective ways of ensuring that sun safety activities are created and implemented within the whole school environment. Furthermore, the 2011 NICE guidelines for preventing skin cancer recommend that all schools should “develop, implement and monitor a specially tailored policy to ensure people are protected as much as possible.” This year Cancer Research have designed a Sun Protection Policy Pack designed to help schools to create their own bespoke sun protection policy. The pack contains: an assembly plan lesson plan sun protection policy guidelines poster to show what actions schools are taking to be SunSmart Primary School teachers are asked to refer to the following page of the SunSmart website: www.sunsmart.org.uk/schools/ The registration process only takes two minutes and can help schools to get the resources and information that they need to implement their own sun protection policy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
