Topic : How do I advertise my shop better to local folk.? |

Hi all. I am looking for some helpful advice about how best to let folk who live in Silsen or pass through by car to know about my little Crystal shop on Aire View. I advertise on Silsden net and in the free publications that come thought everyones letter boxes every month. I cant put a sign at end of Aire View as there is no room but I do put a notice around the bollard for a few hours each day to let people know I am up Aire View. I see lots of folk on the high street but few come up Aire View. I wondered about a sign on the fences/in the field coming into village from Keighley direction but no idea who to talk to about this. I have a sign in both cafes and the newsagents and post office. I opened some 6 months ago but see only a few customers each day. All ideas welcome. Thanks Ally |

I suppose it is rather a specialised shop which not everyone will be interested in so that might be part of the problem, I did walk up Aire View specially to have a look when you first opened but it is not my sort of thing.Not sure that adverts on the way into silsden actually work.Maybe you need to do some advertising in Ilkley and skipton to attract people in.Have you got posters in the health centre and hospital as I see you do complimentary therapies. |

If you are on facebook why dont you join the for sale or swap sites? They have them for nearly every town and they have business advert pages and they are free there are hundreds of people on those groups! |

Or just have a facebook page, local likes and details of all your events should draw some attention? |

Thanks for all the replies. I will try to advertise more widely as yes crystals are rather niche but I also sell a wide range of gifts too. |
