IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. ![]() For lots of information for the Tour de Silsden - times, route, tv coverage, etc see tdy.granddeparty.org.uk ROAD CLOSURES The road closure will be a rolling road closure as the race progresses along the route. I would guess it will be closed in Silsden from about 3pm and open soon after they go through. The main race are due in Silsden between 15.20pm and 15.40pm Don’t forget there are thousands of Amateur riders doing the same route earlier in the day and the roads will not be closed – expect delays. The amateur riders will be all through by 1.30pm The race route through Silsden is down Skipton Road - Bell Square - up Bolton Road PS If you live on the route DON’T FORGET TO MOVE YOUR CAR TO SOMEWHERE SAFE ENTERTAINMENT - FOOD - TOILETS The pubs and cafés will be open and serving food and refreshments. The churches will be open for refreshments, the methodist church will have a large screen showing the race. Across the road from Bell Square come and try some old fashioned Yorkshire games and some we have just invented. ENJOY |

Hearty congratulations to the people of Silsden for getting behind this event, in contrast to the rather feeble efforts in Sutton and Crosshills. |

The rain will stop at 11am, it will then be cloudy for the afternoon race. Don't forget to look for the sheep on the road outside the Kings Arms. (if they haven't been washed away). |

quoteThe weather - I wish, but wasn't it a great day. Your too modest Peter, the weather did as you instructed. We all stood at Tannery Corner, what a great view of the bikes and crowds coming up Bolton Road. Nothing like a "Do" to put the Great back in Britain Well done again Silsden |
