I received a letter this morning from Bradford Council letting me know that the proposed waste site at Silsden was now no longer on the short list of sites under consideration. This may be 'old news' but it is indeed good news. Can anyone confirm that this fiasco is now over? |

Land at Belton Road, Silsden, drew the most opposition, with more than 2,000 people signing a petition about having a possible waste plant close to their homes. A site at Ingleby Road, Girlington, has also been taken off the revised list after a petition. Reported in the T & A Saturday 17th September 2011 (link on the front page of silsden.net) |

Thanks for that Peter, I must have my head in the sand as usual. Very glad about the result though, I can't believe that the council ever tried to 'sell' us the idea in the first place. A total waste of time and money. |
