This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

I went to Keighley today to see the order, and guess what the Town hall is only open Monday to Friday. Why is it not in Silsden town hall ?.

it does state on the notice, that it can be viewed during office hours, which in my book has always been Monday - Friday 9-5pm. I do not understand though why the information cannot be made available to view online.

Does anyone know what this is for?
There is some roadworks on roadworks.org due could it be to repair the collapsed drain by banklands?

HB it is parking restrictions for these junctions, as the junctions are not fit to take the extra traffic for the new school. Also it is to allow very large wagons to get to the new school site.

My objections are now in.

Where would park users be able to park?

Given that Silsden is anticipated to expand by at least 800 houses in the next 11 years, especially in areas at the far side of town, how are we expecting people to utilise the park, if they cant park alongside it or near it?
This will be an even more of a consideration, if the restrictions go ahead, because current home owners who park on those roads, will no doubt be attempting to park on other nearby streets and locations, caused conflict in those areas.

Pretty stupid idea myself: put in your objections!

Hi

I rang Keighley Town Hall this morning but they did not have a copy of the information.

I rang CBMDC and they said they would email it through to Keighley and I asked if they would send a copy to me as well (as a Town Councillor). Nothing has come through yet but, when it does I will post.

Thanks
Caroline

Hi Again

I have now been told that they can't send me a copy as a Town Councillor. The documents are definitely at Keighley Town Hall now and they have also been sent to the ward councillors.

Thanks

Corky Yorky has kindly sent me the map of the Traffic Order proposals and it seems to be along the lines of what was proposed 10 years ago. This will be paid for by the s106 money which was allocated for the job when the Croft houses at the top of Banklands lane were approved.

The only problem I can see is the lines on the LHS of Dale View (as you come off of Bolton Road don't go far enough.

You should look at this site www.news.silsden.net a bit more frequently (a sister site to silsden.net but without any advertisements and a record of recent local history)
news.silsden.net/ ....enjoy!

... back to the subject (and the Dale View junction)

A 12 metre line on the LHS is not long enough. 12 metres would end at where the white car is parked on the pavement, about 2 car lengths from the junction. Parking here is a big problem because if two cars are trying to exit onto Bolton Road then it is impossible to get pass the parked (white) car - this situation happens frequently because Bolton Road is very busy and it's not a nice junction to exit.

Remember you may have to use this junction frequently if you have to take young children to school, how safe will you feel when the back end of your car is sticking out into Bolton Road because there is nowhere to go because a car is parked on the LHS and cars are trying to exit onto Bolton Road.

I would urge you to email Bradford before 17 October legalobjections@bradford.gov.uk quoting ref CORP/PCD/MW/405445 point this problem out to the powers that be.

This is a busy junction, when the school is built it will be a VERY BUSY JUNCTION

Looking at the map there is never parking on Bolton Rd at the Dale view junction where the restrictions are indicated, I would say the restrictions should be on both sides of Bolton Rd at the Dale View junction as the up road to Addingham is were the parking is a problem if you are coming out of Dale View with a large vehicle and turning into town.
