There is a huge log around 20ftX2ft jammed across the beck Behind & above the Post Office. I guess will cause problems in the event of another flood. Whose job is it to get it removed. |

Yes seen it today i was trying to work out how to recover it as it would make some excellent logs for burning when dryed out but it looks well jammed in across the whole width of the beck  |

should do skippy if crane will go down back of post office,the log looks like its on the little concrete wier thats just up from the bridge over beck to st johns st  |

So who has got the digger to sort out the drain at the end of Mitchell Lane? Shall we take bets for when Bradford sort it out? or perhaps it should be how many more floods before it's fixed. |

Clearly the cause of the flooding should be sorted out at source. The drain at the bottom of Mitchell Lane is a last defence which useless if the drain is blocked. My point was the lack of concern, and action, from Bradford. Flooding causes misery, they seem to be happy to take money from us and give very little back. Good luck with the big stick removal guys. |

Local councils were once upon a time just that. With Silsden UDC if there was a problem you would bump into a councillor. We now have just 3 councillors with limited say on Bradford Council and of those on Mr Naylor lives in the area, he is the only one who even talks to the Town Council so he can not be expected to sort everything a whole Urban District Council used to do. Silsden is just a cash cow for Bradford |

Bradford Council were coming to remove that tree trunk and had pencilled in June 23rd 2017 to sort it!!!! |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) Top job skippy got a bit wet getting the chains round it but it could have been a lot worse if i had slipped off as you was HOPING WITH YOUR CAMERA AT THE READY  just been out and measured it is just 21ft long so will be some good burning for next year, i will drop you a crate of sherberts and a bowl of hedgehog soup off at the emporium tomorrow |

And as skippy said today when he saw it if we would have had another big flood it could have well done some serious damage and even badley damaged or even took a bridge out so it was a happy ending for all with no damage done skippy has a crate of sherberts and a bowl of hedgehog soup to look forward to tomorrow and hillbilly has some extra logs for next year LIFE IS GOOD |

just had a delivery from them hilltoppers, hope the stick drys out before mrs hillbilly runs out of roadkill stew. oh and cheers for the hooch ,life really is good (now) again cheers hillbilly. |
