IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. It will be interesting to see if the opening of a dedicated firework shop in Silsden will increase the amount of firework related incidents!! |

I presumed that the greengrocers was selling 'em! That's the last shop we need in this town, and I won't be using it. Moderen fireworks are a real pain! |

Alan, Would it be better it they opened a shop selling old fashioned fireworks ? |

It would be better if they only allowed the sale of fireworks a week before Nov 5. At least that would stop the month of misery (and accidents) before the date. |

quoteAlan, Would it be better it they opened a shop selling old fashioned fireworks ? Sounds good to me. But why does it need to be a dedicated shop? Part of the fun of being a kid was collecting them ready for bonfire night. Damn 'elf and safety has messed all that up! The trouble is now that they are so noisy! Why do they have to be? What makes it worse is that numpties set them off at midnight! |

Do you think the same shop will sell earplugs? Maybe some for pets along with pet diapers (loud noises can effect bladder and bowel control)? I agree they are too noisy and there are a lot of people who set them off in the vicinity of houses with pets. Not everyone has a gun trained dog! |

Don't know about pets needing diapers (nappies - you're watching too many American films) I need one when I get woken up at midnight by fireworks after I've had a whisky! |

We are lucky in the UK. When I was in Greece for Easter they make their own fireworks. Just like 'bombs' if they went off next to you. Lots of children throwing them and blowing their hands off. |

They only throw them once then |
