this post has been edited 1 time(s) Appeal: Theft of British Gas Van, Wyke. 24 January 2013 - 8:17am People in West Yorkshire are being warned to be vigilant following the theft of a British Gas van. The van was taken from Westfield Lane in Wyke on the 22nd January between 12.40 and 12.55pm. From this, I guess that the van wasn't fitted with a tracker? I received this email alert from West Yorkshire Police Authority this morning. It all goes back to police on the ground. It is not good enough to have one officer, or representative coming to a monthly meeting. There needs to be officers on the ground. Peter Ford passed a comment a few months ago regarding swag bags and striped shirts, saying people need to report suspicious people and incidents. He is spot on the mark. I have personally reported vans that are collecting scrap from local areas that are either dangerously loaded or are blatantly not fit to be on the road. The unmanned drone used in the Countryfile clip, is a relatively cheap piece of kit that could be used for various applications for the police. As I said in another post, the police need to be more proactive, particularly with the resources at hand. |

my dad is a scrap metal and waste collector u cannot tar them wi the same brush whatever you say about them. thay are doing a job some are legit for instant peter narey! hes a silsden lad and the narey family have been doing scrap ragnbone more yrs than any1 in silsden area! some of them are criminals yes you are right but nareys are well known in silsden thats why alot of us like will not come frim keighley or bradford cos we know narey will have us kicked out of your town. |

if id of known pete narey was so protective of your little village he said waste work is for silsden mini skips and scrap metal is mine if he had called out to that address. know point me coming over from bradford if you have a local lad for scrap metal |

I'm a bit late at reading this one but owenskolik just made me laugh so much I did a little wee. Picture this ped n Julie stood at the gates of sunny silsden wrecking bar and claw hammer at hand to defend the rights of all us poor helpless silsden folk to be able to use a honest scrap metal dealer. Maybe I should be worried as I took a old metal bed to Tommy Holmes the other day and got £7 for it ,mind you they don't pay cash anymore it's illegal. |

why are you all slagging them too off?i am nothing too do with then im one of the rhodes from bradford!i cannot see pedro with a claw hammer,people know hes not like that! hes a timed lad and a good guy! why would you want to slag him off, your local lads that are helping you all out! what do you want?lads from bradford coming and robbing your gardens?personally if uve got an issue with him,then why dont you ring him and sort it out with him.? bet ull all slag him on net because you havent got the balls to say it too his face! yes that right losers you all are! it says in local books and his website his family have been here 160 years! you lot prob been here 2 yrs |

next ull be phoneing police about me driving through silsden in my wagon saying scrap metal and grab hire on my wagon doors,doo gooders in moring ill be up highgreen drive,moving onto glouster ave,then to royd ings council yard, then bk to high green to pick up a un taxed car! |
