Traffic is moving freely up Bolton Road, so Cringles should be clear. Skipton Road is relatively clear.

Thanks, I got over there and back again last night there is considerable drifting on the east side of the road reducing it to a single line in several places, it is passable; but take care you will meet oncoming traffic on your side of the road.

Just been to Colne via Earby and back via Cowling. Both roads have been closed but now open. Some impressive drifts. Its still blowing off the fields and at times this means you have to drive through blizzard conditions.
I doubt we will ever see conditions like this again at the end of March.
In Colne, I noticed gritters have now moved onto minor roads.

I tried to get up Howden Road and over the tops to East Morton yesterday morning.
I got round the sharp right hand bend half way up the 1:5 hill, then almost to the top before a two to three foot drift stopped me on the steepest part near the top.
I was in a 4x4 so not too much of a problem as I could reverse back down to the corner and double back.
I would'nt have attempted it in a normal car though. I havn't seen any cars come over this morning yet either.

The untreated roads and most pavements are treacherous today, walk and drive with care to avoid a hospital visit.
