IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. While Bradford busy themselves bodging the Town Hall and selling Silsden's assets it is sat on an art collection, some kept locked away, that could be worth £600m. Yes 600 million.Almost £1,200 for each person in the Council area. And in Bradford Councils best traditions its only insured for £20m. www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/10839221._Sell_off_city_artwork_worth_hundreds_of_millions__say_opposition/?ref=var_0 |

More angst about selling off the "civic silver" in the T&A today, this time from the "honourable" George Galloway. www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/10850352.Bradford_art_treasure_sale_plan_is__vandalism_/?action=success The figure given for the total value of the artworks has changed yet again, to over double the figure from yesterday. |
