Digital has been transmitted from Rivock Edge for years wink ;)

Polarisation is different on relays like Rivock. Elements should be vertical for Rivock and horizontal for Emley.

The BBC channels are the worst, sometimes particularly in the evening

I used to have a problem with digital freeview reception when I was using an old onDigital box - frequent picture blockiness and sound breakup. When I stopped using it after getting a tv with tuner built in, the problem stopped. No problem now with digital reception.
I think I read online somewhere that they couldn't handle a strong signal, and needed something to weaken the signal a bit!
Don't know if that might be another explanation for the problem, but I just checked signal strength and quality on my tv menu and it gives BBC1 and 2 maximum ratings.
Not sure which transmitter my aerial is pointing at though.

Called an attenuator and they used to be available from decent TV dealers.

I have noticed the BBC channels are the weakest signals, however I still manage to receive them (barely) on an indoor ariel happy :)

p.s. Electrical motors such as those in PC fans can also cause interference blocking reception of some channels!
