Does anyone know the situation for Keighley.

If I want to vote LD but do not want a Conservative to win should I vote Labour as voting LD might split the vote and let the Consevative win.

Vice Verca if I want to keep Labour out?

Or should I go LD in the hope that a lot of others do and then Keighley helps to crack the bi-party system.

LD candidate looks reasonable, as does the Labour. As for the Conservatives - well, what a great place Bradford is!!!

I had a quick look on times online for our electoral district and in the last election it was pretty close between labour and the conservatives. My guess is those votes were made up primarily of core voters who will vote for that party regardless. This makes it harder for other parties like the lib dems to get in. So in theor it's "swinging" voters who control which of the two (labour and concervatives) get in!

But if you want Lib Dems vote Lib Dems. If everyone who wanted lib dems in voted for another party because they thought they won't get many votes then they won't get many votes!

The analysis
The numbers Griffin quotes are accurate: in the 2004 Euro elections, his party received 808,200 votes (4.9 per cent of the total cast in Great Britain).

Last week, they polled 943,598 votes (6.4 per cent of the total).

Is it not a LD/Con coalition running Bradford and yes it is a mess. If LD get their way the whole country will be run by coalitions for evermore. Be carefull what you wish for

good advice gazzer, the LD bubble is bursting a little now, Clegg and Cable are the only credible people in the party, it will take more than than them to run the country.
Some of their policies are not acceptable to the majority of voters, and I don't think they have the strength to carry out what lies ahead...but they have made the election a bit more interesting!

Personally I am not a great fan of Cameron but I think the tories are the only party that are capable of getting G Britain out of the mess it is in. I might even consider coming back to live there

if anyones wondering what life would be like under the tories then look no further bradford. they run it, it's a complete mess.

the tory candidate for our area (kris hopkins) is one of the men responsible for the appauling state of bradford.

Ted you can only blame a coalition council for the mess in the centre of Bradford (and we don't live there).

The current numbers by party is Labour 36 | Conservative 36 | Liberal Democrat 13 | Green 3 | British National 2

Ref 1: www.bradford.gov.uk/asp/councillors/composition.asp

Ref 2: www.bradford.gov.uk/asp/councillors/byparty.asp

Choose your local councillor wisely. sad :(

peter whilst you once again try to imprint your Tory favouritism on these boards i must remind you of three things:

1. The Tories control bradford in coalition with libdems, labour have no say. Kris Hopkins is leader. Bradford is in ruin.

2. you put in brackets (we dont live there) are you suggesting it doesnt matter that the man responsible for leading bradford to ruin is now running for candidacy in this area? and also that we shouldnt be bothered about areas that we dont live in?

3. As owner of these boards I would personally like to see a non-partisan approach from yourself.

Sigh!

Ted, I wasn't aware I had sided with anyone party, just did the search and posted the references so readers of the forum can make up their own mind. As a committed Labour supporter you will always see red. sad :(

Perhaps what all this tells us is that coalitions don't work in Britain?
All this hope of a hung parliament could be a disaster.
We'll get what we deserve on Thursday, just vote in both elections, and we'll see.

Loafer is clearly... a joker.

I agree with Ted, Kopkins is the Bradford Council leader and must take responsibility for the city being in the worst state it's ever been under any party's leadership.
He has spent a ridiculous amount of his budget on publicity for his Keighley candidacy, when he should have spent it on better things - like sorting out the mess of our nearest city, or fixing the potholes on Hillcrest Avenue.
It's all about Labour's Jane Thomas, or Keighley will be in exactly the same mess while he is still posing for photos - and we don't want that.
