This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

From the Keighley News

A Councillor calls for the council to be more transparent regarding plans for the old Keighley College. Now then Mr Mallinson, fit the word "pot, black and kettle" into a sentence.

Highways Officers are urging Bradford Council to overrule safety concerns regarding Zebra crossing improvements.

The Town Hall will reopen on time but not the original planned opening time. I guess they mean 10am for the xmas market.

We know the household waste permit has led to an increase in fly tipping. It must be worse than we thought. The council now say the will close each waste site two days a week and knock an hour of each day they open

Good old Bradford Met! You really couldn't make it up! I reported a case of fly tipping at Draughton to Craven DC. It was collected within the week. On the same day, I reported a case at Keighley to BMDC. Three weeks later, it is still there.

Do you want to get involved in the opening of Bradford's new City Library? Then turn up in City Park for 1pm each day between 9-14 December and 'freeze' when the clock chimes with a book, magazine, newspaper or kindle. Fancy dress optional!

A photo will be taken of the flash mob that will stored in the library archives.

The new City Library is housed in the space where BD1 Gallery was and the large unit next to Starbucks.
