IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. I was in the park yesterday and saw all the newly planted trees. What a great achievement by Maddie Bell-Jump and her team and what an asset to Silsden for the future. Well done and thankyou! |

Thank you. Its nice to get some positive feedback. We had a good turn out of volunteers and managed to get all 60 complete before a well deserved visit to the pub. You can keep an eye out for future projects, events etc. via our website theenvironmentalgroup.silsden.net/ and we are also on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/448259328525841/ |

I've just had a walk up to the park with Joshua to check on the trees we planted. They are all looking good, there are two at the bottom end that want another tie on, which I will try sort out later this week. The saplings will need watering in the next day or two. Any ideas on getting water to them? I have some 5 gallon drums that I use for water. |

Saplings work 10:00am Wednesday 17th April 2013 Volunteers planted 60 saplings in Silsden Park. Silsden Environmental Team led the planting of young birch, cherry and rowan trees along with one Royal Oak. The saplings were provided by the Woodland Trust as part of its Jubilee Woods campaign for community groups to plant trees across the UK. © Copyright 2001-2013 Newsquest Media Group www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk |
