IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

This will have been covered already but what's happening with the garage now it's closed? Is it to reopen? It was hellish expensive but handy to have one in town.

I don't know what is to happen with this garage, but I was told by somebody who knew about these things; that if a garage stopped selling fuel for more than seven days in a row, then the licence for the site lapsed and nobody could reopen on the same site for another seven years.

When I called in to fill the bike up one day last week, the guy told me that it should have re-opened as a "Jet" brand garage ages ago, but there had been some delays.
He also said that it would be privately owned.

3 guys and a van are removing the interior shelving today...So either pulling out for new owners or leaving it with nothing in there?

localman Of course you will always know better than anybody else! I was told my information from a forecourt attendant who has been in the job for years and he has had personal experience of this happening, he could be wrong or there is a possibility that YOU could be wrong but even if you are proved wrong I don’t expect you to admit it on here or anywhere else!
It is hard to be humble when you are (think you are) perfect in every way.

grandad correct me if I am wrong but the seven days relates to the notice tanker drivers have to give if they are going to go on strike.

Preferred it without a shop & cash only . No being behind someone buying milk , bread , papers etc then trying to find which card worked . Straight in pay , back out & away happy :) happy :) happy :)
