This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

I have about 100 assorted video that were my daughters including adventure, comedy, thrillers. I dislike intensely just throwing them away but can't really see anyone wanting them or what else I can do with them.

Does anyone know of any other use they can be put to?

Or even 'Does anybody still watch videos?'. I shouldn't type so fast and not proofread it!

Why not offer them to the Charity Shop next to the post office?

lizziew you can now change videos onto cd,s its dead easy and the machines are as cheap as chips under a £100 you can also have it done through sites on the internet but the bottom line is do you want to keep any of the films if not just bin em sad :( car boot sales are awash with videos and no one buys them as not many people have video players any more.

Thanks HB and local man. I just want rid of them so will probably end up binning them I think. There isn't one of them I'd watch whatever format it was in and my daughter's tastes have changed.

Will have a look at the recycling link first.

Thanks again.

Just had a look at this - send them by post or deliver in person to Bristol. I don't think I'll bother. In the bin they go.

Hi Lizzie
Why don't you try offering them on the Kly selling site on Facebook? If you search For Sale/Swap in Keighley, you may get some interest on there? I have seen a few bought so probably will be interest in free ones?!

Or you could try the Keighley or Ilkley (or Skipton) freecycle groups.

Age Uk (next to Post office) will certainly take them, not sure why you think they won't. They are always grateful for any donations.

Because I rang them and asked them and they said 'No'. So I don't think I'll cart them down on the off chance that they might take them!

Have decided to try Freecycle as I've got rid of quite a few things on there. Don't know why I didn't try that first.
