THE Friends of Airedale Line (FoAL) is holding its second AGM on Saturday. It will take place in Saltaire Methodist Church – which is on the corner of Saltaire Road and George Street, just five minutes walk from Saltaire Railway Station (postcode BD18 3HJ) – at 1pm. The aim of FoAL is to promote links with communities along the line. It facilitates the adoption of local stations, through Northern Rail’s station adoption scheme, whereby stations can become community hubs as well as departure points. Members of the group have responsibility for station adoption at Shipley, Saltaire, Bingley, Crossflatts, Keighley, Steeton & Silsden, Cononley and Skipton. This is a chance to have your say about your local railway station – about what improvements you would like to see and to help FoAL build community links.
