I've just got off the phone re compensation for the loss of gas supply. The information is, Northern gas will calculate the length of time each home was off and automatically send £60 per 24hrs of disconnection to your gas supplier, so they can knock that amount off your bill. This could take some time, they suggested it might be a month or a bit longer. You do not have to do anything. |

do you know if its per every full 24 hours or is it calculated to the hour? ie if we were off from 8am friday to 7pm sunday do we get compensated for 48 hours or 61? |

I was told at the Church Hall nothing for the first 24 hours and then £30 for each full 24 hours after that and it is confirmed on their website https://www.northerngasnetworks.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Standards-of-Service-2016-17.pdf |

I read it as £30 for 24 hours then £30 for every additional 24 hours. |

The regulatory payment is £30 per 24 hour period, so we'll be getting £60. I assume!  |

The gas engineer that reconnected our house said that £60 per 24 hours is paid to your supplier and that you will get half of that but you have to contact your supplier otherwise they will keep it for themselves. |

heck why are there so many different quotes out there for compensation,and if true why does your supplier get half. |
