Yes they do last Tuesday night 13th two of the cricket clubs mowers were taken pulled them all the way over the field into the old mill and loaded them there. scum scum scum so all the hard work is again in vain but we will survive and be stronger. |

well nothing suprises me last tuesday i was at work and the daughter was at home she was washing up around 2 oclock when some scrote leaned over my back garden wall and robbed my painting ladders they made off in a blue vehicle ,this is the 4th time something has been stolen out of the shed or garden time to get some cctv i think .......what gives them the right to steal from your property bloody nerve doing it in broad daylight time the police took a firmer stand against these scrap collectors |

There are plenty of number plate cameras around, in Silsden and on the by-pass so im sure if the police were really interested they could find a reg number for the cricket theft. |

.... and have you informed the police? How can they do anything if you don't tell them? I went to the last Neighbourhood Forum where Inspector Sue Sanderson gave a very informative speech on how they now police. The crime in Silsden is actually very low and the police tactic on petty crime is now to gather information and then catch the thieves. It is important every crime is reported, with the time is occurred, and then they can look at the CCTV and have a chance of catching them. You can't expect the police to be patrolling every street just on the off-chance they might catch them at it - thieves don't go around with swagger bags and hooped shirts anymore (if they ever did). |

Riverside Mill is over time having scrap metal stolen.The aluminium windows have disappeared. On Watchdog this morning trading standards set up covert cameras to catch flytippers. Why cant the police do the same at the mill site? |

aplologies if you thought i meant yourselfs ped i should have put people who drive round looking for things to steal in plain vans ie-no signage on the sides i appreciate you are legit .....i might add that these people always seem to be driving up and down back streets most weeks looking for things to take with or without permission so my question would be why arent the police stopping and doing random checks on vans ? and yes i did report and no my daughter didnt get reg as the bloke was too quick so cctv will be going up so any further incidents can be recorded |

After next weekend scrap merchants will no longer be able to pay cash so watch out this week...it could be a very busy week for the unscrupulous scrap men. |
