IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

November crime stats, 6 break ins and none solved. All say no further action at this time. Vehicle crime, 5 offences. None solved. Lots of anti social behaviour.

I guess break ins are low on the police priority list. Too difficult and time consuming to investigate perhaps? Well I aren't happy as a tax payer and I demand they do something about this growing issue.

Well does it not surprise you Only 7%of break-ins are solved if they catch someone and they admit other crimes so it is little wonder it is low down on priorities Still im sure they would rather sit in their air conitioned offices than be out patrolling the streets If you see a police person in Silsden i sometimes think they have got lost

There are statistics and the facts - you should go to a Silsden Town Council meeting, usually held the first Thursday of the month. Each month the inspector or a senior policeman gives a report of what crimes have been committed and what they are doing about it. It's quite an eye opener - you should go to the meeting.

Don't believe all you read, stats can be interpreted in many ways.

I don't understand Peter, how do the police explain the burglaries and that they can't and don't find who's done it? The stats kind of say it all... The only thing I can imagine them saying is that they will step up patrols. From what I've seen lately, they've stepped down patrols so they can balance out in other areas where crime is higher to offset the cuts?

I think I will attend the meetings as I would like a voice and to hold those people to account.

I think that even the PCSO's have forgotten where Silsden is. I've not seen one in months.
