I was trying to work out the year, I notice the telephone numbers have the 5 prefix,in a Parish Mag I found in my loft at the weekend dated 1969 they don't.

Yeah that would be about right - what about the sweet shop in the ladies front room just off skipton road near hothfield street - anyone remember that....

Just remember that and Crossmoor Farm at the top of Skipton Road also ran a sweet shop in their front room.

Does anyone remember the Co-op on the corner of St John's Street? where the Carpet Gallery is now. I worked there for a time in the early 60's. The manager was called Julias. I don't remember his last name but he was quite a character.

The managers name was Julius Jacobs. I believe his wife still lives in Silsden. Does anyone know if she still does?

Sam at Auto parts was brilliant, if he didn't have in stock the part you wanted he would have it there for you the next day, nothing was too much trouble and a real gentleman. Seeing all these adverts reminds me that years ago I did all my shopping in Silsden
