This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Is it me or does the Co-op seem to struggle to maintain a supply of milk for its' customers. Several times in the last few weeks I have been in (around tea time) to be met by empty shelves or if not large containers that hold about 8 gallons of the full fat artery hardening gear and nothing else. I asked a member of staff this week and was given the reply 'yes there has been a shortage this week'. THIS WEEK...every week. How come this shortage has not made the news, and don't even start me on the state of the veg. There rant over.

it tastes of something not like the supermarket garbage
on the milk side of things havent seen any other supermarket with a shortage
but yes i was in a few weeks ago and there was just the 8 gallon vats of white water

Ciderman,

There are few more places in Silsden where you can buy milk in reasonable quantities (Pint or the metric equivalent bottles)

Try
Aire View Stores
Twiggs Newsagents
Smithies Butchers (Suitable for Vegetarians)
The little shop up Howden Road

Also, If you are up early enough one of the Solicitors on the main street has 2 pints delivered every week day, normally left on the doorstep.

n.b. The author of this post does not in any way condone the stealing of milk from Solicitors doorsteps.

Alternatively contact your local friendly milkman/lady for lovely fresh dairy products delivered to your doorstep daily.

Or for a more green solution why not buy a cow, and produce your own milk. Any excess you have could be turned into other dairy products e.g. Cheese, Butter, Yoghurt etc, which could be sold to your friends and neighbours or perhaps at a local farmers market.

Or the best solution is drink your tea/coffee black, put cider on your crunchy nut cornflakes in the morning and buy a tin of marvel for when milk taking friends come round.happy :)
