Warm tributes have been paid to a former head boy of Ermysted's Grammar School, Skipton, who has died aged 26. Chris Greenwood, formerly of Silsden, had been living and working in London were he was a television producer, developer and researcher on shows including Big Star's Little Star and daytime quiz show, Think Tank. Burial will take place in Silsden on Tuesday and will be conducted by former Archdeacon and now Bishop of Richmond, the Right Rev Paul Slater. "This is a very sad time and we will be praying for them as a family as they say goodbye to Chris among his friends in London and then as they lay him to rest here in Silsden where he grew up," he said. People are being asked to gather at 2pm at St James' Church Hall, Kirkgate, from where they will walk in cortege to Silsden Cemetery for the burial at 2.30pm. Donations in memory of Chris will be collected for the National Youth Theatre with the intention of creating a bursary fund in his name or to CALM - a charity aimed at bringing the suicide rate down amongst young men. Tributes can be made to Chris via the Ermysted's Old Boys Facebook page. More information goo.gl/okyZb9 |
