Fellow Silsdeners refer to certain places. The top papershop, the middle chippy. Twiggs was always known as that even when the Lampkins owned it. The off licence at the top of the town was always foxes. Any others you can think of?  |

more names, up tip (the green) cut (canal) tannery (airedale factors 1) old ice cream factory (airedale factors 2) piture house (on bradley road)lockers hill (by the top shcool)Fletchers (nursing home now) all these names are still used if you ask where these places are i.e where is airedale factors? silsdener reply well theres one be old tannery and one be old ice cream factory. |
