Items on the agenda 6. Post Office Consultation to the TC – proposal to move from the current premises to 39 Kirkgate, Silsden – will include newly refurbished premises, longer opening hours, same products and services and improved accessibility. 7. Resident’s complaint – Can something be done with regarding to the problems faced by parking at the bottom of Skipton Rd and Elliot Street. 8. Silsden Town Hall – PR to further comment on the request below: From Friends of STH The Town Council will no doubt be aware of the proposed budget cuts by Bradford Council which threaten our Town hall. The Friends of Silsden Town Hall unanimously voted to oppose the cuts threat to the Town Hall and for its retention as a local authority building, serviced by paid staff. A campaign group has been formed and there is to be a public meeting on January 9th. As you will know, the Friends in their two years of existence have achieved a great deal in raising the profile and increasing the all-age usage of the TH and we feel there is a very good case for its continuation as a publicly held premises. The reply will be, yes the Town Council gives its full support, without actually entering into negotiations with Brad,Met. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) On the Skipton Road parking problem - the clerk is writing to Highways for a solution to resolve the parking problem on Skipton Road. On the subject of Bradford offloading Silsden Town Hall - Silsden Town Council voted unanimously to support the friends in their bid to lobby bdf to keep town hall. Councillor Adrian Naylor made it very clear this was in the Labour budget to be discussed in February and that Labour cllrs were in charge of the decisions. |
