This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Does anyone know what has happened to the female Swan that lived on the canal with her mate. I have not seen the pair for a couple ofmonths then last week the male turned up in my garden and hasn't left yet. I wondered where his mate was and are there any cygnets.

Mrs Swan will be holed up somewhere incubating her eggs. The swans at the bottom of the allotments have nested, mum been sat there a few weeks now. Dad taken to standing on the opposite bank on guard.Hopefully we shall be seeing cygnets quite soon, then dad will be awkward.

Thank you, Golden Oldie,
My Swan is at the other end of Silsden, he's still here - alone.
Good Luck with the cygnets.

Beautifull pictures.
We had had a female swan and six cygnets, I'm still not sure if the male living in my garden is the Dad, he doesn't seem bothered by her or the cygnets.
