This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Does anyone know whether the ballot cards have a printing error, it says on mine that I have 10 votes?? I always thought you were only allowed to vote for one candidate.Could it be anything to do with the town council? Also very disappointed that we have only had 2 leaflets from would be candidates, why haven't the conservatives and green party canvassed on the eastern side of silsden?

Sounds like a printing error "ginjo".

There were only just enough candidates for the town council, so there won't be an election for the town council.

The only election in Silsden will be for the district council and you have only one vote for that.

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

Chap canvassing outside the school said there were two elections on, one of which relates to the 10 votes. He seemed to be trying to generate interest in a Bradford level election.

not sure what you mean rugbywidow, who was the man and what is the other election then? As far as I can see, we have just the one vote for craven ward with a choice of 4 candidates.

There IS only one election, and that's for Bradford Council.

There is no election for the town council, only enough people stood for the seats available, so therefore definitely NO election for the town council.

The cards appear to have been printed wrongly.

you have my vote "alan", lets hope you succeed. you deserve to for simply being the only candidate to actually bother canvassing in our area - havent even had a leaflet from any of the other 'contestants'.

Another useful link for people to look at -

www.bradford.gov.uk/asp/elections2007/overall.asp

Up to the 2007 elections Bradford was ruled by a Conservative/Lib Dem alliance.

Who knows what will happen now?

Sorry "ted".

But as they say it's not over till the fat lady sings!

Not sure if it's yet been sorted who is going to run Bradford yet! Conservaties and Lib Dems have up till the election, who knows what's gonna happen now! The Labour party have gained seats in the last election! But not much publicity on that!
