Topic : 2B or not 2B (was Halloween - no thank you!) |

 This post started as "Halloween - no thank you!" and allowed people to download a poster to request 'trick or treater' didn't call, but it would seem some people have no respect for others as you can see from the discussion. There has been a long running debate on the comments made by certain contributors to this forum which in some cases are justified, but there has to be a bit of give-and-take, not the outright condemnation of every comment which you don't agree with. I take exception to individuals telling me who I should ban from this forum. I do edit/delete offensive posts but everyone is entitled to their point of view. If you feel strongly about an individual please email me stating the reasons I should ban them, my email address is at the bottom of the page. I do not like vendettas carried out online on the forum you may get banned yourself - be warned. The Halloween posters have been moved. I have left the comments so that you can continue the debate about comments made - you can decide what sort of forum you want, who you want to ban, and what sort of censorship you want. Peter |

Halloween is a Celtic pagan festival which celebrates the end of the lighter half of the year and the beginning of the darker half of the year. It was taken to North America by the Irish in 1840 and only became popular here in the 1970's when it was promoted as a commercial moneyspiner. So now we encourage our kids to dress up as the Devil, the Grim Reaper, ghosts, ghouls, demons, witches, pumpkin-men, goblins, vampires, werewolves, martians, zombies, mummies, pirates, skeletons, black cats, spiders, bats, owls, crows, and vultures. So now we encourage them to visit our neighbours and beg for treats OR ELSE, we encourage them to be hooligans, we encourage them to roam the streets at night, but at any other time we are ultra protective of them because there may be "bad" people about which might do nasty things to them. Is there any wonder some people do not want to be part of this pagan ritual. |

im not sure that we encourage them to roam the streets at night, i will be walking right next to mine and keeping a good eye on them. Hey and at 37 years old, i recon im still a good shot with an egg when we see these posters. |

To all you sad little Gits that think this is funny, The point of the posters is to stop unwanted callers visiting frail old people who get very frightened when somebody knocks on their door demanding treats with menaces, how would you like it if; it were you grandparents who were menaced in this way, and the suggestion of throwing eggs is just stupid, it shows the true mentality of the ones doing it |

All i could imagine was these grumpy tight people with no sense of humour shouting "get off my land, ive got a poster up in mi window tha nos" and eggs are a traditional practice, i myself have been "egged" many times over the years and have survived every time, although it does smell for ages! |

Gotta agree with grandad. I find it a particularly obnoxious passtime propogated by American trash TV imports. The first time we got 'egged' I tried to wash it off with warm water, not a good idea!  |

lol took me 3 days last year to get rid and i couldnt really open the window for a while for the wiff! there was more than one egg though, could have made a full monty out of it all! (but with just eggs). |

Peter I don't extract pleasure out of offending people as Bogtoss has many times before. It is not a vendetta, I would say the same to anyone else if they persisitently acted in such a way. Is it not a little hypocritical to put the posters on the forum and then defend someone encouraging eggs to be thrown at houses. You don't need me to tell you that that would constitute a criminal offense, so why is it OK for Bogtoss to encourage it? Whilst his comments may be viewed by some as in jest, others may not see it that way. |

i have bit my tongue for bloody weeks now and all i see is agressive/provocative posts on here from "pretenders" like "bogtoss" and i can't even get involved!!! Peter, you jumped on my case for very little, how come certain posters on here get away with murder and i can't say sod all without being told off????? By the way, where's battwig? i liked him/her... |

listen I mean no one any harm all I try to do is get the forum going dont all bite to much Claymoreking banning people as you always seem to be requesting will just make the forum less intresting as for Halloween it just kids most are out with there parents just having a bit of fun and I can tell you most old people are delighted to see them and really appreciate the amount of time and effort put into dressing up I think a lot of you are getting trick or treat mixed up with mischief night which is on Nov 4th____________________ (Bogtoss, your cat post was just one too many Peter) |

Is it me or is it warm in here Let's all just chill like poononga says and debate in a mature fashion. We have a brilliant website that Peter provides FREE to us, let's not spoil it! Any gripes e-mail him direct like he says. |
