Topic : Buzzards above Silsden? |

i keep hearing & seeing 3 large birds of prey circling high above the town, towards the Nab. Can anyone confirm if these are Buzzards or if not, what they are? |

have they got a forked tail? if so,they will be red kites,wing span of upto 7 feet |

I have seen 2/3 birds of this description flying above the park by banklands.I walk my dogs there few times a day and seen them a lot for the last coulpe a months or so.Not sure what bird they are,just a hawk type. |

I've watched them from the woods in the valley above the res, on the path from Meadmores across to the main road at cringles. My neighbour reckons they are youngish buzzards with chicks. |

Yep, buzzards often seen soaring around top end of Silsden this year, usually on nice sunny days, you usually hear them crying before you see them |

Saw Red Kite above Silsden Park today, about ten past 3. Amazing sight, huge wingspan. Others saw it as well. |

Both Buzzards and red kites have been spotted many times by myself whilest walking around the silsden area. A;so near to where i live in silsden i can see them many tmes high in the sky mainly over towards the nab. |

I'm no expert, but both species have made a remarkable recovery after years of persecution by game keepers, the red kite having been reintroduced to several areas. If you drive from Pool in Wharfedale to Harewood, you're virtually guaranteed to see several. Great news that some have been seen around here. |
