This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

On the radio the other day some bloke, might have been from the AA was saying oil prices peaked in July and have dropped quite a bit since but Shell, BP etc have all been very slow (ie haven't) to pass on the reduction. They claim any barrel price changes take about 4 weeks to filter thru! seems to take increases about 2 minutes to get thru and drops about 2 months!

I for one welcome our petroleum overlords and have my yoke already to be fastened to their plough and my first-born ready to be taken into their slavery! (not that he'll do them any good, lazy blighter!)

That wasn't a debate??? gazzer and co tried to explain the situation and the rest of you didn't want to see that you have to break egg's to make an omelette. "Ticket" the one's BLOCKING the path and cut some slack to the one's taking their SILSDEN kids to a game of football.

(Keith Lemon - please keep to the subject. If you want to start a new topic on "support for Silsden football" please feel free to start one) - Peter.

i take it you are joking? what does it matter? someone comes on and suggests scratching cars with a screwdriver i get told to stick to the subject??? bizarre.
Although i do see a pattern to the most "popular" posts.....
"not in my back yard"........"i remember when"........"tragedy,broken streetlight outside number 42"......etc
Don't worry, i'll ban myself........bye!

When the price was going up if the price of a barrel of oil was $110 then diesel was roughly 110p a litre. So how come when oil comes down diesel doesnt.I suppose if people pay without complaining they will keep it up.As soon as the AA said something its started coming down.

It was on the radio this morning that there is a price war starting between the supermarkets and petrol is set to drop, albeit only by 3p a litre or so. but at 6p a litre cheaper than silsden shell, i reckon it could now be cheaper taking a drive to keighley to fill the tank rather than shop local.

Gazzer, I quite agree. I usually try to shop in Silsden to support local businesses but when you feel your being ripped off it makes you think about going into Keighley.

yup im guessing its £1.07 at morrisons keighley and sainsburys so unless your only getting a gallon why not go to keighley
(plus people who say not economical going to keighley do they only drive there cars round silsden must pass a chaeper petrol station at least once a week)
