This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

The application for planning permission for a vehicular access to Sykes Lane will be discussed at the Silsden Town Council Meeting on Thursday 5 December at 7.30pm (held in the Coop meeting room - go round to the door at the back by the fire escape).

The application is submitted by Harron Homes who want to build 90 houses on the Sykes Lane area so there is the potential for this access to Sykes Lane to be well used with the potential to cause traffic congestion on Keighley Road at busy times of the day.

The road will use the land owned by Bradford Council, which used to have caravans on, (opposite Naylor Myers and quite close to the canal bridge)

Planning application form mistakes.
4. The site address is not "Sykes Lane" its Keighley Road. The caravan sales/repair shop never used Sykes Lane.

6. Contary to the application there will be a new public road and public access to be built as it was a caravan sales/repair yard before.

14.Its existing use is not a site access. Why would you want to apply for planning permission for a site access if that was what it was already.
Conviently the applicant suggests the previous use is N/A.

24.Current owner Phil Inman..not BFD Council

It says "Name of Owner" and gives that name as Phil Inman. The agent would sign the right hand box

There is a lot more traffic joins the Keighley road across Clog Bridge and out of Elliott Street than will join it from this development on Sykes Lane, 10 times as much...and it sorts itself out.
Let them get on with the new houses and the access happy :)

Its all immaterial Bradford Council are the land owners and Bradford Council decide if it gets past. No prizes for guessing the outcome.
However if Bradford Council acted like a private company they would have applied for planning permission and then offered the land for sale and made a lot more money
