This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Thank you to of you that have completed the survey. happy :)

So far we have had about 900 completed forms (paper version and online).

If your survey form has not been collected please put your completed form in the collection box you will find in the Post Office, Library or the Co-Op.

There are about 8000 residents in Silsden so 900 completed surveys is only a fraction of the population of Silsden eligible to complete the Survey. We would like everyone to let us know their views on what YOU WANT for Silsden in the future. If you have not personally completed the survey please complete it online, it should only take a few minutes of your time, but your views will be valued by the whole community.

Complete the online survey here www.bradford.gov.uk/surveys/silsden/

Of the surveys completed so far:
only one was completed by someone under 16
5% were in the 16 - 24 age group

If you are in this group tell us what you would like in Silsden complete the survey here www.bradford.gov.uk/surveys/silsden/

We will keep the Survey open until the end of April, the results will then be collated. The collation process is likely to take some time to complete because all the paper form data has to be entered into the electronic system. It is hoped we can publish an interim report at the end of June. The final report will be published when available.

It would be great if Silsden could pull together as a community and act on the points / issues raised by the survey. There seems to be a few sections of Silsden rather than a united whole. It's difficult - but not impossible?

Wish to thank all the people who have and are still helping with the Survey.
However there is so much apathy around both nationally and locally.
Tons of laws and leglisation yet few get charged.
#When Silsden was a large 'vilage' people did care and looked out for one another now it is souless urban blob.
For years people have wanted speed cameras, 20 mph limit through village definate road humps not shallow ones, inconsiderate parking , litter, filth etc sorted .The survey asked about new retailsl outlets there are plenty empty , for sale or to let down the main street.now

As I see it, and it is not just Silsden, everyone wants the 'good old days', ie all the 'nice' local shops, but really have no intention of settling for the high prices and limited choice they must, by their very nature, deliver.

In truth times change. Nothing new. Just think about what happened to those in the horse trade when motor vehicles first appeared. Horses could not compete with cars, and so little general shops cannot compete with super markets. Now horse are a specialist activity, and so it will be with local shops.

What are the latest results from the survey?

I handed mine in at the co-op a few weeks ago. It would be interesting to see the ages of people completing the survey and peoples aspirations for the future of Silsden.

I must admit, my mindset was pretty apathetic towards the survey, hence the late hand in. I saw it on the coffee table and completed it, thinking of the bigger picture in mind, the future environment.for our children.

At the beginning of April we had about 900 completed forms (paper version and online).

Complete the survey online here www.bradford.gov.uk/surveys/silsden/

Of the surveys completed so far:
only one was completed by someone under 16
5% were in the 16 - 24 age group

You have until the 30 April to complete the survey.

It would be wrong to publish any results until the survey has finished, but we aim to get an interim report out as soon as possible. It will take time to collate the answers, those answered online can be collated very quickly but they have to be combined with the paper version of the survey to be meaningful.
