Livingstone and Harman can hardly be held up as representing the Labor party, they are both looney in their views, especially "Red" Ken who is just a political dinosaur and the sooner he is extinct the better.

It could be you.

Obviously some of the looters were opportunists, and got caught. If you have never been in that situation then you do not really know whether or not you would join in.

Anyhow, I blame this government and all their cuts. I hold Cameron an Co. personally responsible for these riots.

And why not. When Gordon Brown was PM he was blamed for all the ills of the world, so now it is the latest incumbents turn.

Not being a right wing thicko with my brains in my boots I have actually read a few books. You know, those things they sell in book stores that the rioters passed by.

There is plenty of research that shows how people who have no criminal background can easily be caught up in the heat of the riot. Just watch all those 'fanatics' cheering at football matches and the like. Finding themselves in a riot and they get carried away.

Dear not thick but tedious be a good chap would you and post some quotes to support this 'plenty of research' bovine excretia you spout.
Speaking only for myself I cannot believe that most people would be anything other than shocked at what those 'untermensch' where getting up to. I very definitely know that I would not take the 'opportunity'.

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

Delboy is forteen years old and lives with his mother. He has to walk 5 miles each way everyday to get fresh water and a round trip of 14 miles for food for him and his 5 brothers and 30 year old grandmother. Can you help him...

I said no because its his own fault as he looted Peckham Tesco and torched Tottenham KFC so if he has to walk to Islington to find a shop open. Its his own fault

Crowd Control - as understood by AH

According to the social psychologist Gustave Le Bon, Contagion theory states that crowds exert a hypnotic influence over their members through collective suggestibility. According to this theory, people tend to give up their personal responsibility and surrender to the emotions of the crowd them. They feel shielded by the anonymity of the crowd and hence abandon responsibilities. A crowd may therefore stir up emotions, assuming a life of its own, and drive people into irrational behaviour. According to this theory whether the crowd is organized or spontaneous, they are bonded (hypnotism or imitation) together with charismatic figures. Le Bon was considered the founder of crowd psychology. Le Bon's The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind in 1895, influenced a lot of people which included Adolf Hitler. In fact his autobiography Mein Kampf mentions Le Bon's work.

That it was organised criminality is what they wnat you to think.
More likely is that criminals jumped in as soon as it started; opportunism.
The present bunch of hooray henrys running the country are trying to convince everyone that it is what it was rather than the truth: a rebellion by pissed off youngsters.

Actually the riots will probably deliver. Riots usually do.

Remember the poll tax riots - remember the poll tax?

Hopefully saner minds will prevail and the causes rather than effects will be tackled.

There you go then old man, I gather you couldn't find too much but even the editor of this article is careful to credit this dirge to the 'social psycologist' responsible in that it was 'according to' (him). He probably believes it even less than I do.

If contagion did not happen then mexican waves could not happen - simples.

News this morning indicates the saner minds are getting a grip. Hooray Cameron has acknowledged there is a social problem - typical tory - always a bit slow to work out the obvious.
