Topic : Started Aireview school 50 years ago. |

I started school 50 years ago this coming term, went first to the Nursery in Prince Street. Taught by Mrs. McLoughlan, and then by Mrs. Gill, played a shepherd in the Nativity play. Anyone else in that year? |

robin do you remember the army cadet hut next to the nursery and the small joiners workshop at the top of prince streat where the houses now stand and the unmade road uup the lane (eiliot streat) |

I remember the Joiner's shop, the joiner's name was Tom Dawson, he has a son called Richard they lived in Albert Sq. Richard is still around. I remember Elliott Street being unmade from Prince Street onwards. A teacher at Aire View once suggested it may have been a Roman Road. |

I remember the joiners Richard Dawson the joiners son took me in to see his dad.some naughty boys who shall remain nameless use to throw stones at the little chimney vents on their way to school. Aire view terrace (cwoop row)was also an unmade road with rocks or big stones sticking up from the muck track |
